I have spent more than two decades in finance, so I understand precisely what a clean, defensible audit should look like. What I need now is an independent set of eyes to carry out a full audit of a small-business client’s financial statements for the most recent fiscal year. The scope is limited to the core statements—balance sheet, income statement, cash-flow statement and accompanying notes. I will supply the trial balance, general ledger exports (QuickBooks), bank statements and any supporting schedules you request. Your job is to trace, test and verify the numbers, flag material misstatements, and issue a concise audit report that satisfies GAAP and can stand up to lender or investor scrutiny. Deliverables • Planning memo outlining materiality, risk assessment and sampling approach • Working paper set (Excel or your preferred audit software) with clear cross-references • Draft and final audit report, including any management letter points and recommended adjustments Acceptance criteria The report must reconcile back to the supplied trial balance, contain no unresolved review notes, and be delivered in both PDF and Word formats by the agreed deadline.
