Mechanical Design SME (Freelance) – SPM Automation Project Project: Automated MCCB Screw Tightening Machine (Switchgear Industry) We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Subject Matter Expert (SME) to review and guide the development of a Special Purpose Machine (SPM) for automated MCCB screw fastening using a Delta SCARA Robot. Scope * Review the ongoing mechanical design * Identify design risks and improvement opportunities * Guide the engineering team with practical solutions * Review fixtures, screw feeding, EOAT, mechanisms, tolerances, and manufacturability * Support the project until successful machine commissioning ### Requirements * 8+ years of experience in SPM Mechanical Design * Strong expertise in automated assembly and screw fastening systems * Experience with robotic automation (Delta SCARA preferred) * Hands-on experience in machine build, debugging, and commissioning * Proficient in SolidWorks/Inventor/Creo or equivalent CAD tools ### Engagement * **Freelance / Remote** * **Duration:** 8 Weeks * **Commitment:** 1 Hour per Week (Total 8 Hours) We're looking for someone who has **built successful SPMs—not just designed them.** If you're passionate about solving real engineering challenges and mentoring a team to deliver a world-class automation machine, we'd love to connect.
