My small C# / ASP.NET web application, hosted on a Windows server (IIS), stopped allowing log-ins this morning. Instead of authenticating, it immediately throws the “Incorrect password” message for every user, even when the credentials are definitely right. The only recent change was pointing the site to a new hosting URL; no code edits, database schema changes, or server-side patches were applied. The app talks to a remote SQL Server database, so connection-string or cookie encryption mismatches might also be in play. I need someone who can jump in right now, review the configuration and code, identify what broke, and restore normal authentication without downtime.
