# Project Brief: Design of PCB, Gerber Files & BOM for Rechargeable ARC Plasma Lighter ## Project Title Electronics Design Engineer Required for USB Rechargeable ARC Plasma Lighter (PCB, Gerber Files & BOM) ## Project Overview I am developing a premium rechargeable ARC plasma cigarette lighter under my own brand. I am looking for an experienced electronics design engineer/freelance consultant to design the complete electronic circuit and provide manufacturing-ready files for mass production. The objective is to develop a compact, reliable, safe, and cost-effective PCB suitable for high-volume manufacturing. ## Scope of Work The selected freelancer will be responsible for: * Design the complete electronic circuit. * Create schematic diagrams. * Design PCB layout optimized for compact lighter dimensions. * Generate production-ready Gerber files. * Generate Pick & Place/Centroid files. * Prepare complete Bill of Materials (BOM) with manufacturer part numbers. * Recommend suitable electronic components considering availability and cost. * Design charging and battery protection circuitry. * Design high-voltage ARC generation circuit. * Include all necessary safety protections. * Optimize PCB for mass manufacturing and assembly. * Provide design review and minor revisions after prototype testing. ## Product Specifications Product Type: Rechargeable Dual ARC Plasma Cigarette Lighter Power Source: * Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery * USB Type-C charging preferred (Micro USB acceptable if technically justified) Battery: * 300–500 mAh Li-ion/Li-Po * Integrated charging protection Required Features: * One-button ignition * High-voltage dual plasma arc * Battery charging indicator LEDs * Low battery indication (preferred) * Auto shut-off after approximately 8–10 seconds * Overcharge protection * Over-discharge protection * Short-circuit protection * Reverse polarity protection (if applicable) * Temperature protection (preferred) PCB Requirements: * Compact size suitable for slim lighter housing * High reliability * EMI-conscious layout * Manufacturing-friendly routing * Cost-optimized design ## Deliverables Successful completion should include: 1. Complete schematic (PDF and editable source) 2. PCB design files (KiCad or Altium preferred) 3. Gerber files 4. Drill files 5. Pick & Place files 6. Bill of Materials (BOM) 7. Manufacturing notes 8. Assembly drawings 9. Test points documentation 10. Component placement files 11. PDF of PCB layout 12. Design calculation notes (where applicable) ## Preferred Experience Applicants should have experience in: * Plasma ARC lighter electronics * High-voltage DC circuits * Lithium battery charging circuits * USB Type-C charging implementation * PCB design for consumer electronics * Mass production design * DFM (Design for Manufacturing) * EMI/EMC considerations Experience designing electronic lighters or plasma ignition products will be a significant advantage. ## Manufacturing Objective The design should be suitable for large-scale production in China and optimized for: * Low production cost * High reliability * Ease of assembly * Long service life ## Intellectual Property * All work created under this project shall become my exclusive intellectual property upon completion and payment. * The freelancer must agree not to reuse, disclose, or sell the design. * A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) may be required before sharing detailed product information. ## Proposal Requirements Please include: * Portfolio of similar PCB designs * Experience with plasma arc or high-voltage electronics * PCB design software used * Estimated timeline * Total project cost * Number of revisions included * Manufacturing support offered after prototype testing Only experienced hardware design engineers with proven PCB design expertise should apply.
