Volvo Penta Transom Repair

Descripción de la oferta
I own a 2006 Four Winns 288 Vista powered by twin Volvo Penta 5.0 GXi engines with SX outdrives. The mounting surface just ahead of both gimbal bearings—the lip that carries the bellows—has been damaged, so each SX transom assembly must come off for a proper fix. The scope is a full repair. After we pull the drives, I need the transom shields removed (or at least backed out) so the damaged aluminum can be cleaned up, built back to factory spec, and prepped for new bellows. Your attention will be on the transom itself and the gimbal-bearing/bellows area; no engine work is required beyond drive removal and re-installation. You’ll need to supply all tools and materials: Volvo Penta-specific pullers and alignment bar, torque equipment, and whatever you prefer for the aluminum repair—TIG, Marine-Tex, inserts, etc. I’ll provide new bellows kits and seals. Acceptance criteria • Both mounting lips are smooth, true, and watertight. • New bellows are installed and pressure-tested leak-free. • Drives are realigned, torqued, and run quietly during a brief sea trial. The boat sits on a trailer in Clearwater, FL with shore power and air available. I’m flexible on scheduling but would like the work wrapped up within the next four weeks. If you’ve tackled Volvo Penta SX gimbal or transom repairs before, please reach out with details of your experience and availability.
