I’m building a new web-based product and need an experienced developer to take ownership of the API layer. The immediate goal is to design and implement a clean, well-documented interface that my front-end team can consume without friction. Because this API will power a browser-based application, you’ll focus on fast, secure endpoints, clear versioning, and solid error handling. I’m flexible on the underlying style—REST, GraphQL, or another approach—so long as it fits the use case and can scale. You’ll help me weigh those options, outline the data models, and then write production-ready code with unit tests. If you prefer frameworks like Express.js, FastAPI, Laravel, or Django Rest Framework, let me know; I’m open to recommendations as long as the final solution is easy for future contributors to maintain. Deliverables • Architecture proposal describing endpoint structure and chosen tech stack • Working API connected to my existing database (or a new schema you design) • Postman or Swagger/OpenAPI documentation so the front-end team can start right away • Basic test suite plus a short hand-off session to walk through setup and deployment Please include links to a few live APIs or repos you’ve shipped recently, note your preferred stack, and estimate how quickly you can get an MVP into staging.
