I need an experienced systems engineer who can dive straight into our Windows Server 2012 R2 environment and a fleet of Windows 10 workstations. The first assignment is to stabilise, harden, and document these platforms, but you will also touch the broader estate that includes LAN/WAN gear, backups, MS-SQL, IIS 8+, and collaboration services such as Office 365, OneDrive, and G-Suite. Day-to-day you will: • Review and correct Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and IIS configurations. • Patch servers and desktops, close security gaps, and verify compliance. • Optimise login scripts, roaming profiles, and folder redirection for Windows 10 users. • Troubleshoot escalated tickets through our help-desk tool and provide clear resolution notes. • Coordinate with the network team on firewall rules, router changes, and connectivity issues. • Validate backups and recovery procedures for critical business apps before any major change. Deliverables for the initial phase: 1. A concise health-check report on Server 2012 R2 and Windows 10, including discovered risks and quick wins. 2. An implementation plan with timelines for each remediation step. 3. Post-implementation documentation covering new Group Policies, patch levels, and rollback procedures. Please outline your recent projects with Server 2012 R2 and large Windows 10 deployments, typical response times, and preferred remote-access tools.
